Privacy Policy

1. Overview

FamStak helps households coordinate calendars, tasks, shopping, bills, income planning, and family information. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we share it, and the choices available to you.

2. Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email address, Firebase authentication identifier, profile photo, timezone, household name, profile color, and subscription tier.
• Household content: family group names, invitations, family member details, birthdays, events, tasks, reminders, notes, shopping lists, bills, payee accounts, payment status, and income entries that you choose to enter.
• Billing information: Stripe customer and subscription identifiers. Payment card data is processed by Stripe and is not stored directly by FamStak.
• Technical information: IP address, device/browser details, logs, request metadata, and security or rate-limit information needed to operate and protect the service.
• Cookies and local storage: essential browser storage for login, security, preferences, and app operation. Optional analytics cookies are disabled unless you choose to allow them.

3. How We Use Information

• Provide, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot FamStak.
• Create and manage accounts, household sharing, subscriptions, billing, and support requests.
• Display and synchronize the household information you choose to add.
• Prevent abuse, investigate security events, and comply with legal obligations.
• Improve the product with optional analytics only after you opt in through Cookie Settings.

4. Legal Bases for EU/UK Users

Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on the following legal bases:

• Contract: to provide account, household, scheduling, billing, and subscription features you request.
• Legitimate interests: to secure the service, prevent abuse, maintain logs, and improve reliability.
• Consent: for optional analytics cookies and similar technologies.
• Legal obligation: for records we must keep for tax, accounting, dispute, or compliance reasons.

5. Service Providers and Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed to operate FamStak, process payments, comply with law, protect rights and safety, or with your direction.

• Google Firebase: authentication, app configuration, and optional analytics if you consent.
• Stripe: checkout, subscription management, payment processing, billing portal, and payment-related records.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers: hosting, storage, logs, security, and delivery of the service.
• Household members: information you share into a family workspace may be visible to members of that workspace according to the app permissions.

6. Cookies and Analytics

Essential storage is used for login, security, preferences, billing flows, and app functionality. Google Analytics for Firebase is optional and remains off until you opt in. You can change your choice at any time.

7. Retention

We keep account and household content while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. We may retain limited records after deletion when necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, tax, accounting, legal compliance, backups, or Stripe billing records. Optional analytics data is governed by Google Analytics retention settings and is not collected unless you opt in.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to processing of personal information, and to withdraw consent for optional analytics. California residents may also have rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, and limit certain sensitive information.

Self-service account deletion and export are not fully automated yet. Until those controls are available, send privacy requests to help@famstak.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

FamStak does not knowingly sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that changes, we will update this policy and provide required opt-out controls.

9. International Transfers

FamStak and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. When required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

10. Children

FamStak is intended for household organizers who are at least 13 years old. Do not create an account or submit personal information if you are under 13. Household organizers should avoid entering sensitive information about children unless it is necessary for their own family organization.
